Meet the Pastor

Pastor Bio:

Pastor Chuck Marshall was born in Venezuela in 1981 and grew up in the tiny village along the Orinoco River in the heart of the jungle in the Venezuelan state of Amazonas.  His parents were missionaries with New Tribes Mission and he came to embrace a saving faith in Jesus Christ at a very early age.

After completing high school, Chuck returned to the United States to study at New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, where he received an Associate’s Degree in Biblical Studies in 2003.

Around the time of his graduation, Chuck met his future wife Becky.  They were married in 2004.  A few short years later they continued their training with New Tribes having the objective of participating in tribal church planting overseas.  They both completed a year and a half course of study at NTM’s Missions Training Institute in Camdenton, MO in 2009 where Chuck received a bachelor’s degree in Intercultural Ministries.

But during the years in Missouri, God began changing their direction.  Rather than church planting overseas, God was calling them to a church planting ministry right here in the United States.  To help clarify this calling, Chuck accepted a position as a church-planting intern under Pastor Dave Mobley at Woodridge Community Church in New Berlin.

In 2010 Chuck and Becky began to pursue church-planting with Converge Great Lakes, an association known for planting gospel-centered churches.  After completing the application process with Converge, they were officially called by the organization to be church planters, being sent out by their church in New Berlin.

While he and Becky were living in Waukesha during those years, the Lord kindled in Chuck’s heart a great love for the city and its people.  He began feeling a strong leading of God to plant a church – a new kind of church – in the City of Waukesha with the aim of bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people who would not otherwise ever consider setting foot inside a church.

Thus the idea for Waukesha City Church was born.  And the rest, as they say, is history.

Chuck and Becky live in the City of Waukesha with their four children, Aiden, Charlie, Audrey and Kate.
